JOB SUMMARY: The CDC Teacher must establish channels for regular communication with students, parents, teaching staff and others regarding attainment of family and treatment goals. In addition, the Teacher will assist the Sr.
Program Manager in ensuring compliance at-all-times, provide, and/or oversee the provision of, adequate supervision and appropriate care for all the children in his or her class or group at-all-times, and ensures the learning environment is clean and healthy and meets the safety guidelines per OSSE regulations.
Further, the Teacher provides support to the overall school environment by ensuring that students are making adequate developmental progress, preparing and implementing strategies for students with developmental and without disabilities within the classroom and preparing lesson plans that drive positive student outcomes. Responsibilities
: Adapts and modifies lesson plans from the school curriculum to support the students in progressing through the curriculum/lessons. Collects data regularly to document ongoing progress towards Core Curriculum and IFSP goals. Collaborates with the IFSP team to establish goals that must be implemented within the learning environment to include the classroom. Regularly meets with and collaborates with the Director concerning student goals, student needs, modification of assignments/lessons, etc.
Conducts mandatory home visits in accordance with OSSE regulations. Regularly meets and plans with the classroom team to collaborate and build a community of support for Kennedy Institute’s students and students in need. Supports the staff and Sr. Program Manager in gaining a better understanding of special education practices, conducting and/or arranging in-service trainings for Kennedy Institute staff.

Responsibilities
Prepares, writes and implements student academic goal plan utilizing curriculum-based checkpoints. Maintains ongoing documentation concerning student participation, achievements, incidents, parental contacts, etc. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
