About the Client We're helping a fast-growing marketing and operations company find an AI Automation Engineer to build the next generation of AI-powered systems across multiple businesses. The company operates across eCommerce, subscription businesses, and service-based brands, combining marketing strategy with operational excellence. They are building a centralized AI platform that automates marketing, reporting, content production, customer workflows, and internal business operations.

This is an opportunity to help architect production-ready AI systems that will be deployed across multiple companies—not just build one-off automations.

The role

We're looking for an experienced AI Automation Engineer who can design, build, deploy, and continuously improve AI-powered workflows, intelligent agents, and business automation systems. This is an engineering-focused role. Beyond automation platforms, we're looking for someone with strong software engineering fundamentals who can build reliable, scalable AI systems using Claude Code, APIs, Python, and modern AI development practices.

You'll work directly with leadership to transform business processes into intelligent systems that deliver measurable operational impact. Role Details Commitment: Part-Time (20 hours/week) Working Hours: Preferred overlap with Pacific Time working hours Location: Fully Remote (PH-based candidates preferred) Engagement: Independent Contractor Start Date: ASAP Monthly Rate: USD $900/month (can be higher, depending on level of experience)

What you'll do

AI Agent Development & Automation (Core Focus) Design, build, and maintain production-ready AI agents using Claude Code and modern LLM technologies Develop modular agent-based systems capable of handling complex business workflows Build reusable AI frameworks that can scale across multiple businesses Design human-in-the-loop workflows with approval and exception handling Continuously improve agent performance, reliability, and accuracy Workflow Automation & Systems Integration Build advanced automation workflows using tools such as n8n, Make, and APIs Integrate CRM, marketing platforms, databases, communication tools, and internal systems Develop event-driven workflows using webhooks and APIs Design structured automation architectures that are maintainable and scalable Troubleshoot and optimize automation performance AI Engineering & Platform Development Develop AI-assisted coding workflows using Claude Code Build prompt libraries, structured outputs, and reusable AI components Implement model routing and orchestration strategies Design memory and long-term context management for AI agents Build observability, monitoring, logging, and evaluation into AI systems Optimize token usage, latency, and operational costs Support deployment using Docker, cloud platforms, and modern development workflows Business Process Engineering Analyze operational workflows and identify automation opportunities Translate business

Requirements

into scalable technical solutions Build AI systems supporting marketing, reporting, customer operations, and business intelligence Document systems, architecture, and best practices Collaborate closely with leadership to prioritize and deliver automation initiatives What We're Looking For Must-Haves 3+ years of experience building AI-powered applications, automation systems, or intelligent workflows Strong experience with Claude Code and AI-assisted development Solid programming skills in Python Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and Git Experience building AI agents and multi-agent workflows Hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms such as n8n or Make Strong understanding of prompt engineering and structured outputs Experience integrating multiple SaaS platforms using APIs and webhooks Understanding of LLM architecture and AI workflow design Experience debugging, testing, and optimizing AI systems Familiarity with deployment concepts such as Docker, cloud environments, and scalable infrastructure Excellent problem-solving skills and strong written and verbal English communication Nice-to-Haves Experience with vector databases and embeddings Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools Knowledge of AI evaluation and benchmarking techniques Experience with CRM, marketing automation, or business systems Experience within eCommerce, SaaS, or subscription-based businesses Understanding of SEO, marketing automation, or growth systems Ideal Candidate Profile This role is ideal for someone who: Thinks like an engineer and solves problems like a consultant Enjoys building production-ready AI systems rather than experimental prototypes Can rapidly move from concept to implementation Designs scalable architectures instead of one-off automations Is comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments Takes ownership of technical solutions from design through deployment Understands both the technical and commercial impact of AI automation Is proactive, curious, and continuously learning as the AI landscape evolves If you're passionate about building intelligent systems that create measurable business value, we'd love to hear from you.
