About Skyports

Founded in 2018 by Duncan Walker and Simon Morrish, Skyports emerged from the identification of a critical need for safe, regulated, and vehicle-agnostic landing infrastructure to support the burgeoning Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry. The company's journey began with the conviction that electric aviation holds the potential to deliver significant benefits to people, businesses, and the environment. Skyports set out to enable this future through its dual focus on vertiport infrastructure and drone services. A pivotal early milestone was the construction of the world's first passenger vertiport prototype in Singapore in 2019, a groundbreaking achievement that solidified Skyports' position as a first-mover in the AAM space. This early success was followed by the establishment of additional offices in key global locations, including Dubai, Colombia, and Japan, reflecting the company's international ambitions.

Skyports Drone Services quickly established itself by tackling real-world challenges. In 2020, the company was authorized by the Scottish government to transport COVID-19 kits, demonstrating the practical applications and societal benefits of drone technology. This initiative, jointly funded by the UK Space Agency and the European Space Agency, highlighted Skyports' ability to collaborate with governmental and international bodies. Furthering its impact, Skyports partnered with Royal Mail to launch a drone postal service in Scotland, marking the first UK drone delivery project capable of operating on a permanent basis under existing regulatory frameworks. The company has continued to expand its drone service operations globally, with a presence in the UK, Dubai, Singapore, Korea, Japan, and Colombia, spearheading industry developments in diverse sectors such as maritime, logistics, medical deliveries, survey, and surveillance. Skyports Infrastructure, the other arm of the company, focuses on designing, building, owning, and operating vertiports. This critical work enables electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to operate in and around cities worldwide. Key projects include a full-scale vertiport testbed in Paris and a significant agreement with Dubai's RTA to develop the world's first vertiport and eVTOL network, slated to be operational from early 2026. With substantial funding rounds, including a Series C in 2024, Skyports continues to accelerate its mission to connect the world through the skies.
