Accelerate Change is a nonprofit digital media lab dedicated to catalyzing new, scalable, and financially self-sustaining models for citizen organizing, with a particular focus on engaging communities of color and low-income communities. Many communities face systemic barriers that prevent their voices from being heard and their needs from being addressed by policymakers. This often leads to policy disparities that disproportionately impact BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), low-income, and other historically marginalized groups, including immigrants and LGBTQIA+ communities. Accelerate Change works to address these challenges by developing innovative strategies to increase civic engagement through digital media. Our customers, which include social change organizations and the communities they serve, are looking for effective ways to build power, advocate for policy changes, and create a more equitable and representative democracy.

Our approach involves scaling and investing in emergent and established cultural media properties, building influential networks, running a digital media experimentation lab, and driving impactful civic engagement campaigns. We understand that to create lasting change, organizations need to build deep, trusted relationships with their audiences by providing real value in their everyday lives. In a digital context, this means creating engaging cultural media content around interests like food, music, fashion, and more, which resonates with diverse audiences. By employing lean startup methodologies and other business strategies, we help our partners scale their reach and impact. We are committed to collaborating with and supporting other organizations in this space, acting as a catalyst for investment and innovation in digital organizing. Ultimately, our goal is to empower communities to solve real-world problems and improve their quality of life by ensuring our democracy is more responsive and representative of all its citizens.
