Activate is the nonprofit where scientists become leaders of world-changing ventures. Our flagship fellowship program was the first fellowship for entrepreneurial scientists - providing the mindsets, skills, networks, and support needed to turn breakthrough hard tech into real-world impact. Through Activate's expanded global programming, we support science entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey, offering the most comprehensive programming in the space. Founded in 2015, we have grown to become a national hub for science entrepreneurship, operating fellowship communities across Berkeley, Boston, Houston, New York, and nationwide through Activate Anywhere. Activate Fellows have raised over $5.5 billion in follow-on funding, created approximately 3,000 jobs, and launched 235+ impactful hard tech companies addressing global challenges in energy, climate, manufacturing, and beyond.
