Het bedrijf werd opgericht in 1984 door René Schepens, die tot 2020 CEO was en nu voorzitter is van de raad van bestuur. Sinds 2015 heeft Luminus (een EDF-bedrijf) een meerderheidsbelang in ATS Group.
