The story of Avvoka begins with a shared frustration. Co-founders David Howorth and Eliot Benzecrit, both experienced corporate lawyers, found themselves bogged down by the repetitive, time-consuming, and manual nature of creating legal documents. They saw firsthand how lawyers spent far too long drafting similar contracts by hand, a process ripe for error and inefficiency. While some document automation tools existed, they were complex, often requiring users to learn coding, which created a high barrier to entry for the vast majority of legal professionals. This status quo was simply not good enough for them. Driven by a belief that there had to be a better way, they embarked on a mission in 2016 to democratize document automation for the legal industry.

From this vision, Avvoka was born. The core of their mission was to build the world's most powerful, yet accessible, no-code automation editor. They envisioned a platform so intuitive that any lawyer, regardless of their technical expertise, could automate even the most complex contracts. What started as a two-person venture has since blossomed into a global team of over 60 colleagues, with offices in London, Singapore, and the Czech Republic. The platform has evolved into an end-to-end solution that manages the entire contract lifecycle: from initial drafting and automation to live collaboration, negotiation, e-signing, and post-signature analytics. Avvoka's success is reflected in its impressive roster of clients, which includes world-leading law firms like A&O Shearman and Fenwick & West, and major corporations such as McDonald's, Sony, and Warner Bros Discovery. Beyond their product, they are fostering a community through 'LogicallyDrafted', a conference series that brings together legal tech enthusiasts to shape the future of the industry.
