We are a new climate non-profit with a big vision: to make Canada a world leader in scaling carbon removal solutions that can help us reach net-zero emissions and beyond. We believe Canada has what it takes to be a pioneer in this field. We have the resources, the know-how, and the innovation ecosystem to succeed. As one of the highest per capita emitters of greenhouse gases, we also have a responsibility to act. Our work is centered on the belief that carbon removal is an essential tool in the clean energy transition and must be used in addition to—and not in place of—reducing emissions. Even with the most ambitious emissions reduction efforts, society will still need to remove billions of tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere to stay aligned with global temperature targets. Carbon removal is our only tool to address this legacy of planet-warming greenhouse gases.

Our mission is to catalyze the rapid and responsible scale-up of carbon removal in Canada. We do this by advocating for policies that position our country for global leadership and help meet international climate targets. We deliver critical research needed to scale carbon removal by leveraging our expertise and engaging with the carbon removal community. This ensures our independent research and analysis are responsive to the needs of stakeholders, addressing the most pressing issues. We inform policy by engaging with policymakers and other stakeholders to shape Canadian policies that create demand, increase supply, and enhance the integrity of carbon removal solutions. Furthermore, we are committed to advancing responsible carbon removal solutions, advocating for technologies and methods that safely and effectively clean up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while prioritizing community and social equity. We envision a future where Canada fully leverages its strategic advantages as a carbon removal leader to support the world in meeting global climate targets.
