Flytrex Aviation Ltd was established in Israel in late 2013. In 2017, the company launched the world’s first fully operational, regulatory approved, on-demand drone delivery service in Reykjavik, Iceland, and pursued BVLOS operations with Icelandic aviation authorities. Flytrex participated in the FAA Drone Pilot Program in the United States, partnering with North Carolina’s Department of Transportation to explore drone-based deliveries. The drones are capable of carrying up to 6.5 pounds and can cover several aerial miles, enabling rapid deliveries for restaurants and retailers. Uber has invested in Flytrex, and the company has conducted deliveries for partners such as DoorDash in the US.
