Fortify Health remote jobs and company guide
Fortify Health is a non-governmental organisation working to reduce and prevent iron deficiency anaemia in India by supporting the fortification of wheat flour with essential micronutrients.
About Fortify Health
In 2017, Fortify Health began with a critical question: How can we cost-effectively improve public health at scale? The founders recognized that iron deficiency anaemia was devastating communities across India, with more than half of pregnant women and two-thirds of young children suffering from the condition. Rather than accepting this as an intractable problem, they identified wheat flour fortification as a proven, evidence-based intervention that could reach millions through existing supply chains.
Today, Fortify Health works across sixteen states in India, supporting millers and state governments to fortify chakki atta with iron, folic acid, and Vitamin B12. The organization operates through three strategic work streams: Open Market Support, which provides millers with equipment, premix, and training; Partnership Support, which assists governments and NGOs in mainstreaming wheat flour fortification through social safety net programs; and Evidence Generation, which conducts monitoring and evaluation to build the case for food fortification. With a target to reach at least 100 million people by 2030, Fortify Health represents one of India's fastest-growing non-profits tackling the issue of micronutrient deficiencies, also known as 'hidden hunger.'
