We're a team of over 150 people working across more than 15 countries, running award-winning conservation and community development programs in some of the world's most extraordinary locations. Our journey began when our founder Richard Walton started GVI in the late 1990s, launching our first marine conservation program in Honduras in 1999. Since then, we've connected thousands of volunteers and interns with sustainable development projects around the world.

We work closely with local communities and partners to deliver real, measurable impact on the ground - from sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica to wildlife research in South Africa. Our programs are designed to give people meaningful experiences while supporting critical conservation work and community development.
