International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is one of the largest audience and industry-driven film festivals in the world, held annually at the end of January in various locations throughout Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Founded in 1972, the festival has established itself as a leading destination for independent and experimental cinema, showcasing groundbreaking films from filmmakers around the globe.

IFFR actively supports new and adventurous filmmaking talent through its co-production market CineMart, the Hubert Bals Fund (established in 1988), Rotterdam Lab, and other industry activities. The festival presents a year-round programme that deepens appreciation of cinema in all its forms while broadening and diversifying audiences for independent film. IFFR is also a co-founder of the International Coalition for Filmmakers at Risk (ICFR), responding to cases of persecution or threats against filmmakers at risk due to their work. The festival's 55th edition in 2026 featured 441 films from 92 countries and attracted over 286,000 attendees.
