Jirau Energia is a Brazilian special purpose entity created to construct, maintain and operate the 3.75GW Jirau hydroelectric power plant, located in Ilha do Padre, 120km from the city of Porto Velho, in the state of Rondônia. The company operates one of the world's most significant hydroelectric facilities, holding the distinction of being the largest hydroelectric plant globally in terms of turbine quantity, with 50 water turbines generating clean, renewable energy.

As the fourth largest generator of electricity in Brazil, Jirau Energia plays a critical role in supplying the nation's power needs, providing electricity to approximately 10 million consumer units and contributing 2.6% of Brazil's total electricity consumption. The plant achieved commercial operation in September 2013, and all 50 of its generating units are now fully operational. The company is committed to sustainable development principles, incorporating ESG strategies into all its operations and maintaining numerous social and environmental programs for the preservation of biodiversity and ecosystem integrity in the Amazon region.

Jirau Energia is certified by the United Nations as operating the world's largest CDM-registered renewable energy project, generating approximately 6 million Certified Emission Reductions annually through greenhouse gas emission reductions. The company is owned by a consortium including ENGIE S.A. (40%), Eletrosul Centrais Elétricas S.A. (20%), Companhia Hidrelétrica do São Francisco S.A. (20%), and Mizha Participações S.A. (20%). One of Jirau's main pillars is the promotion of research and innovation, driving scientific and technological development through various programs and projects.
