In the late 1950s, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi established the foundations for what would become a global movement dedicated to sharing the Transcendental Meditation technique with people worldwide. Maharishi Foundation International (MFI) was created as a US-registered non-profit to support the development of new technologies and outreach opportunities for the worldwide Transcendental Meditation organization network. Over the past 60 years, the organization has grown to support operations in more than 100 countries, helping more than 10 million people worldwide learn the TM technique through a global network of certified teachers.

Today, MFI operates as a fully remote organization with over 50 team members distributed across North America and Europe. The foundation is committed to leveraging modern technology and progressive management practices to make the TM technique and its related programmes more accessible to people everywhere. This includes developing digital tools like the TM App for iOS and Android, creating online training resources, and supporting national offices with integrated business tools. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization, 100% of contributions support the educational and charitable mission of spreading meditation practices globally.
