About MOVE Texas
MOVE Texas is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, grassroots organization dedicated to building political power in underrepresented youth communities across the state. Founded in 2013 by a small group of dedicated students at The University of Texas at San Antonio, the organization began as MOVE UTSA with a mission to increase participation in local elections. Since then, MOVE Texas has expanded statewide to become one of the most effective voter registration and civic engagement groups for young people in Texas.
The organization operates under the tagline 'Mobilize. Organize. Vote. Empower.' with a vision to build the political power of young people to transform democracy in Texas and beyond. MOVE Texas works by developing new leaders, educating voters, and creating space for the changes needed to make Texas a place where all Texans can thrive. Through programs like the Creator Collective and Community Captain initiatives, the organization engages young Texans in civic life, focusing on voter registration, get-out-the-vote efforts, and grassroots organizing. As a 501(c)(4) organization, MOVE Texas Action Fund mobilizes young Texans to influence policy and electoral change.
