Founded in 2017 by Waseem Daher, Jeff Arnold, and Jessica McKellar, three friends from MIT's computer club with a history of successful B2B startups, Pilot was born out of a desire to solve a pervasive and significant pain point: bookkeeping. Having experienced the challenges of financial management firsthand with their previous companies (Ksplice, acquired by Oracle, and Zulip, acquired by Dropbox), the founders recognized a massive unmet need in the market.
