Why the name “project44”? It actually has to do with Route 66, the iconic American highway rooted in Chicago, our hometown. What many don’t know is that a few decades after opening, Route 66 could no longer serve the the growing demand and in 1953, Highway 44 opened as Rte. 66’s first major bypass. This ambitious new transportation infrastructure connected a growing nation and supply chain. It’s the perfect project to serve as our namesake.
