Reflective is a global, non-profit research organization aiming to radically accelerate the pace of sunlight reflection research. We equip the world with the data and tools needed to make informed decisions about sunlight reflection, fast enough to matter. The world has already crossed 1.5 °C, and time spent above it matters. Decarbonization and carbon removal remain essential, but neither can cool the planet fast enough to shorten dangerous overshoot in the coming decades.

Sunlight reflection methods, including stratospheric aerosol injection, may be the only tools capable of near-term cooling - but we lack the data to judge whether they reduce risk or create new ones. We set and maintain a rigorous roadmap, pool philanthropic resources around those roadmap priorities, build tools that make the current research legible and that make conducting research easier and faster, and invest in building the field. Our team is global and interdisciplinary, with expertise spanning atmospheric science, physics, aerospace engineering, software engineering, and policy.
