About Slang

Unlocking human potential with professional English. Everyone deserves access to world-class opportunities for education and professional development.

Slang was born at MIT out of the collaboration between two students, Diego and Kamran. Through Diego’s personal experiences — watching the employees of his companies in Latin America and his international classmates at MIT struggle with industry-specific English — he realized that there was no English-learning solution on the market that could meet the needs of professionals and businesses, needs that go beyond basic English.

Kamran’s expertise in ML and NLP was the missing piece to make this dream a reality. Together, they developed the cutting-edge algorithms that form the backbone of Slang’s adaptive approach.

To become the industry standard for developing and certifying professional English.
