The opportunity
As Senior Product Manager, Consumer, you will own the roadmap for consumer-facing and subscription products and features, reporting directly to Product leadership and partnering with Engineering, Bioinformatics, Design, and Customer Success. You will plan and deliver experiences that make genomics approachable and useful for a broad consumer audience, with success measured by roadmap clarity, on-time delivery, consumer and subscriber adoption, and how effectively product changes address user pain points and improve satisfaction across the consumer journey.

- Own and maintain the end-to-end consumer product roadmap in Jira across web and app experiences, ensuring features, experiments, and enhancements are clearly scoped, prioritized, and progressing.
- Lead cross-functional discovery focused on consumer needs, turning insights from user feedback, analytics, and market signals into clear product plans and hypotheses.
- Write and maintain specs, user flows, acceptance criteria, and success metrics in Confluence and Jira for consumer journeys, onboarding, engagement, and retention features.
- Coordinate execution with Engineering, Bioinformatics, Design, and Customer Success on consumer initiatives, resolving blockers and aligning tradeoffs to timelines and goals.
- Monitor consumer feedback channels (Intercom, Reddit, surveys, escalations) and translate themes into roadmap priorities, iteration cycles, and usability improvements.
- Own backlog grooming for consumer workstreams, keeping Jira boards organized, statuses accurate, and dependencies visible.
- Partner with Design to ensure Figma prototypes and flows reflect consumer requirements, edge cases, and a clear, approachable UX for genomics.
- Define and track success metrics for consumer features, tying outcomes to engagement, conversion, and satisfaction.
- Champion a user-centric perspective in consumer planning, ensuring solutions address real user pain points and deliver measurable value.
- Drive disciplined use of Jira and Confluence as single sources of truth for consumer product documentation and plans.
- 5+ years product management experience shipping consumer-facing SaaS, health tech, and eCommerce products end to end.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills for specs, timelines, and structured systems thinking across complex consumer journeys.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders on consumer initiatives.
- Facility with agile workflows and tools (Jira, Confluence), including backlog grooming, dependency mapping, and cross-team coordination.
- Comfort in technical discussions with engineers and bioinformatics teams, with a bias toward execution and user-centric thinking.
- Experience using qualitative and quantitative feedback to inform consumer product decisions, roadmaps, and iterative improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in early stage, startup, and unstructured environments, turning ambiguous consumer problems into clear plans and consistently shipping impactful work.
- Located in the US and experienced working in fully remote environments.
