Job description

Senior Product Manager, AI Platform at Sequencing

Sequencing is building the interface between humanity and its DNA.

Using clinical-grade whole genome sequencing, AI, and a rapidly expanding ecosystem of genomic applications, we help people better understand themselves, their health, and their future through their DNA.

The human genome is one of the most valuable and underutilized resources in the world. Our mission is to transform the human genome into a lifelong source of personalized guidance and build the trusted home for every genome on Earth.

As the world’s largest direct-to-consumer whole genome sequencing platform, Sequencing is helping define the future of AI-powered personalized health.

We’re a profitable, venture-backed, fully remote company building category-defining products that help people better understand themselves through their DNA.

The opportunity

As Senior Product Manager, AI Platform, you will own the connected intelligence system that allows Sequencing’s current and future AI-powered products to become more contextual, personal, proactive, and valuable over time.

Reporting: This role reports to the Senior Director, AI & Emerging Technologies.

You will translate customer and business needs into platform capabilities across data, memory, integrations, retrieval, agent orchestration, evaluation, observability, and reliability. You will work closely with Engineering, Bioinformatics, Product, Design, and Customer Success to make the full intelligence pipeline measurable, trustworthy, and ready to support polished product experiences.

This is a hands-on, AI-native product role. You should be comfortable prototyping, reading traces, interrogating failure modes, and making informed tradeoffs across deterministic and probabilistic components. You will partner closely with the Senior Product Manager, AI Applications, who owns how these capabilities become a coherent member experience.

What you’ll own

  • The roadmap and PRDs for the intelligence capabilities behind Sequencing’s AI-powered member experiences, including memory, personalization, proactive guidance, integrations, retrieval, agent orchestration, and future platform components.
  • Clear system contracts across data inputs, scientific processing, retrieval and tool use, model reasoning, orchestration, and product outputs.
  • A rapid prototype-to-decision loop that turns approved product intent into working agentic prototypes with explicit test criteria.
  • Evaluation as a release gate, combining deterministic checks, LLM-as-judge methods, human annotation, scientific review, and observable thresholds.
  • Platform observability, including trace quality, latency, cost, failure classification, and the evidence needed to make release and investment decisions.
  • Cross-functional prioritization that connects Customer Success and product signals to scalable intelligence capabilities.
  • The handoff from validated platform capability to polished member and partner experiences, in close partnership with product-surface owners.
  • Continuous improvement of reliability, efficiency, and developer usability across the intelligence pipeline.

Who you are

  • You have 7 to 10 years of product management experience, including at least 2 to 3 years shipping production LLM or generative-AI products to real users.
  • You have designed or shipped agentic systems involving tool use, orchestration, memory, retrieval, prompts or skills, and evaluation loops.
  • You can distinguish using AI from building reliable AI systems, and can explain the architecture, evaluation, failure handling, and operating ownership behind systems you shipped.
  • You have used evaluation suites, human annotation, LLM-as-judge methods, or comparable quality gates in production.
  • You can prototype, read traces, and reason with engineers about model, data, orchestration, and reliability tradeoffs.
  • You turn ambiguous customer and business needs into clear interfaces, measurable requirements, and prioritized delivery plans.
  • You are rigorous about health-product trust, uncertainty, privacy, and human scientific review.
  • You communicate clearly across Engineering, Bioinformatics, Product, Design, and Customer Success.
  • You are based in the United States and comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-moving, fully remote environment.

Helpful experience

  • Healthcare, genomics, or another regulated and high-consequence domain.
  • Consumer conversational products, voice interfaces, or longitudinal personalization.
  • Data-platform, developer-platform, or internal-tool product ownership.

Benefits overview

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Paid volunteer time off
  • Fully remote work with home office stipend
  • Parental bonding leave
  • Clinical-grade whole genome sequencing for you and your family (private and confidential)

Join Sequencing

  • Redefine how people understand themselves through their DNA
  • Build category-defining products alongside scientists, engineers, and innovators
  • Contribute to technology that will improve and extend millions of lives
  • Shape one of the most important emerging categories in AI and healthcare
