About the role
We're looking for a Senior Enterprise Engineer to join our Data team. In this role, you'll help architect and build the interconnected systems that run the business, leveraging third party tools, MCP servers, internal APIs, lightweight web apps, and automated workflows. You'll work closely with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand needs and ship reliable, well-crafted solutions.
This is a role for a seasoned Python engineer who's comfortable owning complex projects end-to-end, from scoping and architecture to deployment and maintenance. Our team is small, high-trust, and values clarity, maintainability, and getting the details right.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain MCP servers that expose data platform capabilities and enterprise business systems to internal tools and AI workflows in a deterministic way
- Build internal APIs to enrich the ecosystem of programmatically addressable resources
- Build lightweight web apps and dashboards using Streamlit to support internal processes
- Develop stateful applications that ensure SOP of various processes are followed in compliance with policy
- Develop and manage automated workflows and pipelines in Python
- Manage a SDLC to convert high value macros and other tools built by less-technical users into standalone services and low code workflows that can be used by multiple internal teams
- Define coding standards and best practices for interacting with AI agents across Branch
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Branch to scope and deliver solutions
- Write clean, well-documented code and contribute to a culture of technical quality
What We're Looking For
Required
- 5+ years of professional Python engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience designing and building APIs (FastAPI or Flask preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with full-stack Python development
- Experience building or working with MCP servers
- Experience with Deterministic LLM programming (ie. LangChain, UserPromptSubmit, PostToolUse)
- Familiarity with OLTP databases and caching technologies
- Strong proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Proven ability to own the full lifecycle of a project
Nice to Have
- Background in fintech, payments, or financial services
- Experience with Streamlit or similar lightweight UI frameworks
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools (ie. Airflow, Prefect, n8n)
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (ie. AWS, GCP, Azure)
