Responsibilities

The Cardiac Device Specialist is directly responsible for the monitoring, billing and programming of all cardiac devices such as Pacemakers, Defibrillators, and Loop Recorders. The Cardiac Device Specialist will chart and document all device checks and complete reports for each patient as part of patients’ medical record and as required under state and federal guidelines. The Cardiac Device Specialist communicates with the physician(s) and patients regarding procedure and devices. Monitors and records device logs and information related to manufacturer notices. Communicates any national notifications or recalls in a timely manner to the appropriate physician. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality consistent with HIPAA, state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Training

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Current BLS certification (AHA Only).

3. Basic EKG Interpretation class certificate is required.

4. 2-3 years previous Cardiac work experience required.

5. IBHRE Certified Cardiac Device Specialist Certificate from the Heart Rhythm Society is preferred but not required.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $27.00 to $40.56. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
