The Director of IT Cybersecurity will own and manage Ensemble's cybersecurity platforms, ensuring they are deployed, configured, and operated effectively to protect the organization. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will manage a team of security engineers and analysts responsible for the day-to-day operation of cybersecurity platforms, while also directly contributing to platform administration and technical problem-solving. The Director of IT Cybersecurity will develop a keen understanding of Ensemble's unique business requirements to identify and reduce enterprise risk, and will report to the Deputy CISO.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensures cybersecurity platforms are properly integrated, licensed, and performing to established service levels.
  • Evaluates and recommends new security platforms and tools as business needs and the threat landscape evolve.
  • Manages vendor relationships and contracts for cybersecurity tooling.
  • Manages the budget for cybersecurity platforms and tooling, including forecasting and cost optimization.
  • Provides hands-on leadership to a team of security engineers and analysts, balancing direct platform work with delegation, setting priorities, reviewing work, and coaching for technical growth.
  • Establishes change control and configuration management practices for cybersecurity platforms to ensure changes are tracked, tested, and approved before deployment.
  • Partners with security Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) - e.g., incident response, threat intel, compliance - to ensure platforms are configured to meet their operational needs.
  • Ensures platforms meet required security standards by providing control assurance evidence and validation to demonstrate ongoing effectiveness.
  • Partners with other IT teams whose systems and applications are protected by Ensemble's cybersecurity platforms.
  • Develops and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for platform health, uptime, and operational success.
  • Reports on platform status, risks, and roadmap to the Deputy CISO, and participates in relevant status meetings.

Employment Qualifications

  • CISSP, CompTIA SecurityX, GIAC (GSEC/GCIA/GMON), or equivalent platform/technical certification; vendor-specific certifications (e.g., SIEM, EDR, or IAM platform certs) a plus.
  • 5-7 years or relative experience
  • 2-3 years, or more, of true leadership experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or Equivalent Experience
