The selected candidate would sit in the Allentown, PA, or East Coast Remote area and support the Clinical Trial Division. CTD partners with pharmaceutical and biotech customers around the world to ensure the right patients get the right therapies in the right doses at the right time - a concept that we internally adopt as "There is a Patient Waiting." Join our team as a Demand Planner III at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where you'll contribute to global healthcare and scientific advancement. In this role, you'll develop and manage comprehensive demand forecasts while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory levels and ensure excellent customer service. You'll use advanced analytics and planning tools to support strategic decision-making, contributing to our mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
A Day in the Life
Working with commercial, operations, and finance teams, you'll facilitate demand review processes, analyze market trends, and provide valuable insights to improve forecast accuracy. You'll contribute to new product launches, portfolio management, and sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes. This position offers the opportunity to implement improvement initiatives while developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
Keys to Success
Education
- Bachelor's degree required. Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- APICS certification or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, or related field required.
- Experience analyzing customer demand patterns and market trends to develop accurate forecasts
- Experience with S&OP processes and demand planning systems (Demantra, IBP, Forecast Pro)
- Experience with new product launches and product lifecycle management preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and statistical modeling skills with demonstrated forecast accuracy improvement
- Excellent project management and cross-functional team collaboration abilities
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with ability to guide decision-making
- Proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tools
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and supply chain best practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
- Knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical industry regulations preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a global, matrix organization
- Demonstrated problem-solving and improvement-oriented mindset
