Job description

Corporate Counsel, Product at Fetch

What we’re building and why we’re building it.

Fetch helps people live rewarded every day, with a vision to become the rewards destination for everyone. We turn everyday activities into meaningful rewards, whether it’s grocery shopping, grabbing a quick meal, or playing a favorite mobile game. To date, we’ve awarded more than $1 billion in Fetch Points to our users.

Each day, more than 13 million receipts are submitted on Fetch, providing visibility into over $212 billion in gross merchandise value. This creates the largest retail-agnostic, SKU-level view of household spending, powering Fetch as an outcomes-based advertising platform that helps brands acquire and retain lifelong consumers.

The Fetch app is available on the App Store and Google Play, with more than 6 million five-star reviews from a highly engaged and loyal user base.

It’s not just our users who believe in Fetch: with investments from Softbank, ICONIQ, DST, Greycroft, and partnerships ranging from challenger brands to Fortune 500 companies, Fetch is reshaping how brands and consumers connect in the marketplace. When you work at Fetch, you play a vital role in a platform that drives brand loyalty and creates lifelong consumers with the power of Fetch points. User and partner success are at the heart of everything we do, and we extend that same commitment to our employees.

At Fetch, we value curiosity, adaptability, and the confidence to explore new tools, especially AI, to drive smarter, faster work. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be ready to learn quickly and think critically. We welcome learners who move fast, challenge the status quo, and shape what’s next, with us. Ranked as one of America’s Best Startup Employers by Forbes for two years in a row, Fetch fosters a people-first culture rooted in trust, accountability, and innovation. We encourage our employees to challenge ideas, think bigger, and always bring the fun to Fetch.

About the role

As Corporate Counsel, Product, you'll own legal strategy for a meaningful slice of Fetch's product and data surface, from concept through launch and beyond. This means developing deep engagement with stakeholder teams within Fetch’s engineering, data, AI, product, and GTM functions. You'll be embedded in critical discussions, helping teams make better decisions earlier, and you'll be trusted to identify and communicate risk mitigation strategies with direct and immediate impact on the company.. You'll also help build the scalable processes that let Legal keep pace as Fetch's data and AI footprint keeps growing.

This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.

Role Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Privacy, Security, and GTM teams throughout the product development lifecycle, advising on new launches, features, experiments, and strategic initiatives — not just the ones that happen to generate a contract.
  • Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical, prioritized guidance for the teams building the product, not just a summary of what changed.
  • Review customer-facing experiences, disclosures, terms, and product documentation for legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify legal risk early and develop pragmatic mitigation strategies that support business goals, rather than generic risk-avoidance advice.
  • Build repeatable legal frameworks, playbooks, and self-serve processes that scale as Fetch's product and data footprint grows.
  • Sync with the Fetch Legal team and outside counsel on cross-functional topics, to ensure alignment across full span of legal topics, so guidance is complete and consistent across teams.
  • Present legal recommendations and risk tradeoffs to senior business leaders, enabling informed product and commercial decisions.

Minimum Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • 5+ years of legal experience, including significant experience advising technology products, with substantive work in AI/data governance, privacy, or technology transactions.
  • Demonstrated experience counseling cross-functional product and engineering organizations, at a leading law firm, an in-house technology company, or a combination of both.
  • Experience with ad tech/ecommerce/SaaS product/business concepts.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — comfortable drafting complete, firmly-reasoned language for contracts, regulators, and consumers rather than hedged or generic language.
  • Comfort working in fast-moving environments where priorities evolve quickly.
  • Experience both working with and evaluating AI-powered products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex legal concepts to technical and non-legal audiences in a clear, actionable manner.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience advising consumer technology, AI, or ad-tech products.
  • Familiarity with CCPA/CPRA and other state privacy laws, and emerging AI regulation.
  • Experience creating scalable legal guidance, playbooks, or self-serve processes for a rapidly growing product organization.
  • Background working in a high growth startup
