Sustainability & Energy Data Engagement Specialist at O I

In this role, you will support O-I's sustainability and energy performance goals by partnering with manufacturing plants and key stakeholders across the business. The role combines energy management, data analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement to drive energy efficiency, support sustainability initiatives, and deliver actionable insights. Working closely with global and regional teams, the specialist helps promote best practices, supports sustainability reporting, and contributes to achieving O-I's energy and carbon reduction objectives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support manufacturing plants in the use of energy management tools, reporting systems, and performance metrics. Monitor, analyze, and report energy performance data, identifying trends, opportunities, and best practices. Facilitate energy leader communities, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Develop and promote energy management guidelines, KPIs, and continuous improvement recommendations. Support energy efficiency projects, business cases, and capital investment initiatives. Conduct site visits to review energy performance and identify improvement opportunities. Ensure compliance with energy reporting requirements and data quality standards. Contribute to the Spark program and support the achievement of global energy goals. Manage customer sustainability data requests and support sustainability reporting activities. Assist with carbon reduction initiatives, customer carbon roadmaps, and sustainability certifications. Monitor relevant sustainability and carbon legislation and support alignment with O-I's sustainability strategy. Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to advance sustainability and energy performance across the organization.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience in energy management, engineering, or manufacturing operations, or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification. Minimum 3 years of experience in energy management, energy efficiency, or a related field, or equivalent formal energy management training. Experience in an industrial environment; Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUPs. Experience using data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Working knowledge of sustainability principles, carbon reduction initiatives, and environmental performance metrics. Six Sigma, statistical analysis, or continuous improvement training is highly desirable. ISO 50001 training, certification, or experience with energy management systems is an advantage. Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience supporting change management initiatives and driving organizational adoption of new processes and tools. Knowledge of energy metering systems, energy monitoring software, and calibration practices. Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, project evaluation, and business case development.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This position will report to the Director, Global Sustainability and Energy and is part of the Global Sustainability and Energy team.

TRAVEL: up to 15%

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position will be between $80,000 - $99,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
