Job description

Social Media Manager at Assist World

About the Organisation

An Australian not-for-profit charity working in Cambodia, focused on teacher training and children's education programs. The organisation is looking to build a consistent, high-quality social media presence to raise awareness, engage donors, and drive fundraising outcomes. Strategy, messaging, content assets, audience briefs, and campaign direction are all provided — what is needed is someone who can take those inputs and execute them with precision across platforms.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to manage and execute paid and organic social media campaigns across Facebook/Meta, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This is an implementation-focused role — the organisation provides the strategy, assets, copy, and briefs. The right candidate will know their way around Meta Business Suite, understand campaign setup and budget management, and consistently deliver content that is on-time and on-brand.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Setup & Execution

  • Set up and manage paid ad campaigns across Facebook/Meta and Instagram using Meta Business Suite.
  • Configure targeting, audiences, budgets, and scheduling based on briefs provided by the team.
  • Manage LinkedIn content publishing and organic engagement.
  • Ensure campaigns go live on time and run as planned from start to finish.

Content Scheduling & Asset Management

  • Receive content assets (images, videos, copy) from the team and assemble them into a content calendar.
  • Schedule posts across platforms in line with campaign timelines (week 1, week 3, week 5 messaging cadence, etc.).
  • Create simple graphic tiles in Canva where needed, using provided brand images and guidelines.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor campaign performance including reach, engagement, cost-per-result, and ROI metrics.
  • Provide regular performance summaries and flag underperforming content for review.
  • Make data-informed optimisations to improve results within approved budget parameters.

Account Management

  • Manage access and administration of social accounts (currently operated out of Cambodia; coordination required).
  • Keep platforms organised, up to date, and compliant with Meta and LinkedIn policies.

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience managing social media for organisations or clients.
  • Proven hands-on experience running paid campaigns in Meta Business Suite (Facebook & Instagram ads).
  • Confident reading and interpreting social media analytics — not just vanity metrics.
  • Proficient in Canva for basic asset creation and resizing.
  • Strong attention to detail — campaigns must go live correctly, on time, every time.
  • Portfolio of past social media work required for consideration.

Advantageous (Not Required)

  • Experience managing social media for charities, NGOs, or cause-based organisations.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn campaign management and organic content strategy.
  • Experience working with cross-border or remote teams.
