Join our Clinical Customer Development team as a Clinical Customer Development Specialist and support the targeted clinical use of Procalcitonin (PCT) and other innovative biomarkers.

In this field-based role, you will lead clinical market development across your territory and increase awareness, acceptance and sustainable adoption of our biomarkers through targeted engagement with healthcare professionals, clinical education and development activities. In doing so, you will support the diagnosis and management of bacterial infections and sepsis, as well as antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, and contribute to advancing biomarker-guided clinical decision-making.

You will take ownership of clinical market development within your territory, with the goal of increasing demand, acceptance and sustainable clinical adoption of our biomarkers. Your focus will be on clinical education, stakeholder engagement and account development, while commercial contracting and sales execution remain with our License Partners.

A Day in the Life

You will lead clinical account development across hospitals and healthcare institutions within your territory and build strong, sustainable relationships with clinicians, laboratory professionals and healthcare decision-makers in areas such as Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Infectious Diseases, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Antimicrobial Stewardship teams.

You will identify the objectives and clinical challenges of healthcare professionals and translate these insights into targeted educational and development activities. This includes supporting the implementation of biomarker-guided clinical pathways, hospital protocols and antimicrobial stewardship programs, as well as delivering clinical education through discussions, presentations and workshops.

What to expect

  • Drive clinical demand and adoption of Procalcitonin (PCT) and other innovative biomarkers.
  • Engage healthcare professionals, clinical users and decision-makers across relevant medical specialties.
  • Analyze and prioritize accounts with high clinical development potential, identify relevant stakeholders and develop account-specific strategies to increase clinical acceptance and adoption.
  • Build strong, sustainable relationships with key clinical stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Support the implementation of biomarker-guided clinical pathways, hospital protocols and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
  • Deliver clinical education through discussions, presentations and workshops.
  • Develop account strategies together with our License Partners, align clinical development activities and support joint customer activities where appropriate.
  • Act as a scientific and clinical partner and actively drive market development without direct sales responsibility.
  • Work closely with Medical Affairs, Marketing and other Commercial teams.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at relevant events and scientific congresses.
  • Contribute to territory growth through increased clinical adoption and systematic account development.Ensure complete and up-to-date documentation of relevant account and activity information in Salesforce (SFDC).

Keys to Success

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology or a related scientific field; an advanced scientific or clinical degree is an advantage.

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in healthcare, diagnostics or a related environment.
  • Experience in in vitro diagnostics, biomarkers, or clinical areas such as Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, Emergency Medicine, sepsis or Antimicrobial Stewardship is an advantage.
  • Experience engaging clinical users and healthcare decision-makers.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to understand and communicate scientific and clinical content.
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident and persuasive engagement with medical decision-makers at different seniority levels, with the ability to conduct credible clinical discussions, constructively challenge established approaches and initiate change.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong initiative, influencing skills and results orientation, with the ability to identify clinical development opportunities early and systematically advance them.
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with clinical stakeholders and business partners.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a cross-functional matrix organization.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (>50%).
  • Fluent German and strong English communication skills.
