What you'll do
- Build custom WordPress themes, Gutenberg blocks (ACF or React-based), and plugins from provided designs
- Translate mockups into responsive, accessible frontend code using HTML, CSS/SASS, and modern JavaScript
- Work within Drupal for client sites that require it — theming, content types, and module-level troubleshooting
- Diagnose and fix frontend and backend issues across a variety of CMS platforms
- Collaborate directly with designers, consultants, and occasionally clients to solve problems and refine implementations
- Use AI tools like Claude Code to plan out and execute aspects of a large project.
What you bring
Must-haves
- 5+ years of professional frontend development — strong HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript fundamentals
- 3+ years building and customizing WordPress sites, including Gutenberg block development (ACF or React-based blocks)
- Solid working knowledge of PHP (7.x/8.x) — enough to read, debug, and extend WordPress/Drupal codebases confidently
- Practical Drupal experience — theming, content architecture, or module-level work
- Familiarity with WordPress hooks/filters and general LAMP-stack conventions (MySQL, Git)
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating in a remote, client-facing environment
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code.
