Job Description

As part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll do meaningful work with colleagues and customers who are pushing science forward every day. In this role, you will represent the full Olink Proteomics portfolio, growing our business and helping researchers use proteomics to answer some of the most important and complex questions in life science and human health.

Business + science = your passion?

This is an opportunity for someone who loves building business, creating opportunities and winning - while working with brilliant customers and colleagues, often at the very frontier of research.

You will take ownership of developing your territory: identifying new opportunities, opening doors, building relationships and turning scientific needs into commercial opportunities. At the same time, you will continue to grow the trusted relationships we have already established with our customers.

To succeed, you need both commercial drive and scientific credibility. You should be energised by the pursuit of new business and genuinely curious about your customers' science. The best conversations in this role start with understanding what a researcher is trying to discover and lead to identifying how proteomics can help them get there.

We work with intensity, ambition and a strong sense of teamwork - sharing knowledge, supporting one another and staying close to our customers.

What will you do?

As our Sales Specialist for Proteomics Sciences, you will be responsible for driving growth of the Olink Proteomics business in the Copenhagen territory.

You will

  • Actively develop new business by identifying prospects, opening new accounts and creating opportunities across academia, biotech, pharma and other relevant customer segments.
  • Own and develop your territory and sales pipeline, with a clear focus on achieving ambitious revenue and growth targets.
  • Represent and sell the full Olink Proteomics portfolio, growing both new and existing customer relationships.
  • Spend significant time in the field — we expect approximately 50% of your time to be spent meeting customers.
  • Proactively engage researchers, key opinion leaders and other scientific stakeholders to uncover opportunities and understand their research priorities.
  • Ask the right questions to understand what customers are trying to achieve and connect those needs with how proteomics can support their research.
  • Develop opportunities across multiple disease and research areas, combining commercial awareness with the curiosity to quickly understand different scientific applications.
  • Build strong relationships throughout customer organisations and develop yourself into a trusted scientific and commercial partner.
  • Build and execute account and territory plans, maintaining strong momentum from prospecting through opportunity development, negotiation and close.
  • Work closely with colleagues across sales, applications, marketing and other functions to bring the best of Thermo Fisher Scientific and Olink to our customers.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of your pipeline, opportunities and next actions using Salesforce and other commercial tools.

You will report to the Business Development Director, Nordics & Baltics.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who combines strong commercial drive with scientific credibility.

First and foremost, you are a business builder. You enjoy finding opportunities and you don’t wait for them to come to you. You are comfortable prospecting, opening new doors and developing relationships from an early conversation through to a successful sale. Targets motivate you, and you bring the pace, persistence and personal accountability needed to deliver ambitious growth.

At the same time, you are credible in front of sophisticated scientific customers. You are curious about their research, confident engaging with key opinion leaders and able to understand complex research questions across different disease areas. You don't know every answer, but you ask great questions, understand what matters and recognise where proteomics can create value.

In other words, we are looking for someone with the drive to hunt for and win new business, and the scientific curiosity and credibility to build meaningful conversations with leading researchers.

To succeed in this role, you will bring

  • A proven hunter mentality, with the energy and persistence to prospect, create opportunities and win new business.
  • A few years of successful sales experience within life science, biotechnology, diagnostics or another relevant scientific field.
  • A track record of working toward and delivering challenging commercial targets.
  • A degree in life sciences, biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or another relevant scientific discipline.
  • The confidence to engage with researchers and key opinion leaders and develop relationships with highly knowledgeable scientific customers.
  • The ability to understand customer research questions and connect them with relevant proteomics solutions.
  • A consultative approach to selling, combined with the ability to progress opportunities and ask for the business.
  • High intensity, strong personal ownership and a bias toward action.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of your territory while being an active contributor to a close, collaborative team.
  • Fluent in Danish and English.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the territory.

Copenhagen or the surrounding area is the preferred location, given the highly customer-facing nature of the role.

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our work has a purpose. If you are commercially ambitious, energised by winning new business, excited by science and happiest when you are out meeting customers, this could be the role for you!
