Data Analyst

Overview

At Cotiviti, we are custodians of data for our clients, which requires efficient processes to manage data implementations, data production, data quality and data security. The Data Analysis function provides insight into different aspects of the data operations function right from raw data files to the quality of data in the deliverables.

The Data Analyst will be responsible for data management and data quality. In this role, you will host and facilitate discussions with healthcare data carriers to manage data intake and ensure all client data requirements are discussed and confirmed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for data management and data quality.
• Host and facilitate discussions with Healthcare data carriers to manage data intake and ensure all client data requirements are discussed and confirmed.
• Document meeting discussions and obtain sign off from the client and carriers.
• Perform data quality checks verifying that data provided is consistent with the requirements to build Healthcare Data Warehouse.
• Write data transformation specifications to load source data into target data warehouse tables.
• Work with database programmers to perform quality checks on reformatted coding and transform raw data into table layouts.
• Perform data analysis, data mining and identify root cause of issues using SQL.
• Assist the Engineering/Tools team with new business requirements and Functional Specifications.
• Assist in the conversion of internal processes from manual to automated through coding and programming.
• Complete all responsibilities outlined in performance reviews and goal setting.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Computer Science, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience with healthcare data analysis and strong data manipulation skills.
• 2+ years of experience in Healthcare or Insurance data warehouse operations.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare enrollment, medical claims, and drug claims data.
• 2+ years of experience with HEDIS software.
• Ability to use SQL (TOAD, SQL Tools) and other data tools to analyze diverse datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to analyze raw data and present results with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.

• This role requires travel throughout the year to participate in client meetings or company events (estimated 10%).

• Assessing accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.
• No adverse environmental conditions expected.
• Must provide a dedicated, secure work area.
• Must provide high-speed internet access and office setup/maintenance.

Base compensation ranges from $67,000 to $87,000.
