Client Account Executive - Allegiance - Remote at Cigna Health & Life Ins. Co.

Client Account Executive – Allegiance

Join Allegiance as a Client Account Executive, where you will build trusted customer and broker relationships while guiding new and existing business through service, renewal, and implementation milestones. In this role, you will connect customers, brokers, carriers, and internal teams, using benefits expertise, clear communication, and data insights to deliver responsive service and lasting account value.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, carriers, and internal partners to support effective service delivery and account health.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource on group health benefit plans, company procedures, and changes that may affect customer programs.
  • Research and resolve client questions and service issues, coordinating timely follow-up across internal and external partners.
  • Support development of proposals and placement of new and renewal business in collaboration with brokers, carriers, and company teams.
  • Create reports, charts, and analyses that explain customer cost and claims experience and support informed decisions.
  • Organize and facilitate customer meetings that align stakeholders, clarify decisions, and maintain progress on commitments.
  • Support implementation of self-funded customers and approved plan design changes, including coordination of rates, communications, and operational tasks.
  • Respond to customized reporting requests and distribute accurate account information to appropriate internal partners.
  • Coordinate customer communications and group mailings related to plan changes, required notices, or new requirements.
  • Represent Allegiance professionally at customer sites and in presentations to new and existing customers.

Required qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in group health insurance, account management, human resources, benefits administration, or a related client-facing role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong presentation and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, research, and problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, remain flexible under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, and related business applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret benefit plan documents, insurance agreements, regulations, and claims-related information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally with customers, brokers, carriers, and coworkers.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and obtain required Montana Life, Health, Credit Life, and Disability licenses.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • Completion of the AHIP Health Insurance Associate program.
  • Working knowledge of self-funding, excess loss coverage, claims administration, and insurance products such as Life, AD&D, STD, and LTD.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience using claims-processing or reporting applications.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 96,800 - 161,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
