Job description

Senior Product Manager, Consumer Payments at Affirm

At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most.

About the Product team

The Product team listens to our customers’ needs and translates those insights into a clear product vision. The team works closely with design, engineering, and analytics to build scalable financial products that empower people to manage their money with confidence. We rely on empathy, curiosity, and business sense to prioritize features and improve experiences. Our role is to lead with clarity, support cross-functional execution, and champion the user in every decision.

About the role

The Consumer Payments team powers how customers successfully make payments to Affirm. As a Senior Product Manager, you will create new payment experiences that make repaying easier, improve payment success, and define how payments are processed safely and cost-effectively. This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Design, and Partnerships.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a curious, collaborative Senior Product Manager to improve how customers pay with Affirm.

  • Design and run experiments that improve conversion, payment success, and cost
  • Shape how payments are processed safely and cost-effectively, weighing performance and risk
  • Be a trusted partner to Product, Engineering, Finance, Design, and Partnerships, exploring new opportunities together, evaluating their impact, and defining sequencing
  • Drive an ambitious roadmap that delivers customer and business outcomes by identifying the highest-impact bets and presenting strategy to senior leaders

  • Analytical rigor: you are comfortable in the data and use experiment results and customer research to make product decisions
  • Curiosity about customers: you have strong instincts for where an experience breaks down and the drive to fix it
  • Experience holding informed conversations with engineers about how systems work and the tradeoffs they carry
  • A track record of taking products from discovery through launch and iteration, including turning ambiguous or conflicting inputs into a clear plan
  • Clear communication and influence: you explain tradeoffs well and build trust and alignment across Product, Engineering, Finance, Design, and Partnerships, including senior leaders, without needing formal authority
  • Bonus points for experience in payments, fintech, or e-commerce
