Job description

Insurance graduate program - Belgian Market at Alan

HEALTH CAN’T WAIT.

Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that’s exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can’t.

Alan exists to end the wait.

Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it’s coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It’s not solely a question of willpower. It’s the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way.

So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience.

We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture https://alan.com/en/careers. We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR.

Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond.

⭐️ THE INSURANCE TEAM ⭐️

Being part of Alan's insurance community is a great opportunity to have a significant impact on people's health and wellbeing in our multiple countries of operation.

  • We are at the heart of Alan's mission, bringing to the team our technical leadership and expertise on healthcare and death & disability insurance.
  • We work hand in hand with our data scientists, designers, engineers and product managers to build the most differentiating products and provide a delightful experience at a fair price.
  • We build and manage offers for large companies and public institutions with our sales and account management teams.
  • We make sure our portfolio is closely monitored and risks are effectively managed.
  • We also manage our capital, steer our reinsurance strategy and maintain a trusting relationship with our insurance regulators.

⭐️ THE INSURANCE EXPERT ROLE IN BELGIUM ⭐️

Being an Insurance Expert at Alan in Belgium means being part of a small and talented team currently working on delivering the best experience to our members.

The role of an Insurance Expert at Alan is to:

  • Design and and price insurance offers,
  • Monitor the business and the risks,
  • Help the rest of the team understand the subtleties of healthcare and insurance.

Recent missions include

  • Contribute to new product design and pricing strategies.
  • Support Sales with insurance expertise to help sign large customers in Belgium.
  • Monitor the portfolio and improve the depth and accuracy of reporting.
  • Document and structure insurance knowledge to up-level the Belgium team.
  • Join the insurance on-call rotation to support internal teams with day-to-day questions.
  • Work with Engineering on tools that create tailored insurance offers at scale.
  • Being part of an insurance community at the global level, with an impact on our organisation, hiring and training across multiple countries.

⭐️ IS IT YOU WE'RE LOOKING FOR? ⭐️

You may be a great fit for the role if:

  • You combine a scientific background (actuarial sciences, statistics, mathematics or data science) with a first experience or strong interest in insurance (product, pricing, regulatory or analytics)
  • You have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data, business and legal questions into actionable outputs
  • You have a builder mindset: you continuously identify opportunities to improve and scale processes and systems
  • You are willing to deeply change the insurance and healthcare industry and challenge the status quo
  • You communicate in a clear, structured and to-the-point way in English (written and spoken)

For this role, we are looking to hire within the B1-C0 level range.

🎯 IMPORTANT NOTE: WE HIRE PEOPLE, NOT ROLES.

If you're excited about this opportunity but don't check every box, we'd love to hear from you. Everyone, no matter how underrepresented, should feel free to apply, as it can only bring learnings or success.

If you identify yourself as a woman: Did you know that research shows women often apply only when meeting 100% of requirements?

Remember, this is just a guide, not a checklist. We'll be thrilled to receive your application!
