What this job can offer you
This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as Manager, Project Management, joining our Global Payroll Implementation team.
Our largest customers offer arrive with payroll running in many countries and several Remote products in scope at once. The Manager, Project Management leads the team of Project Managers who deliver those programmes and owns how they get run: the standards the team works to, the governance the customer sees, and ensures that we hit the go-live dates we committed to during the sales cycle.
You will be reporting to the Director, Payroll Implementations.
This role puts you in charge of the delivery discipline behind Remote’s most complex customer implementations. You will decide how multi-country payroll and multi-product programmes get scoped, run and reported on, with the room to change that as the business scales. The work is cross-functional by default; Payroll Operations, Customer Experience and Sales, as well as Product and Engineering, all having a stake in whether an implementation is successful. You will also be building a team, and the PMs you hire will set the standard for what customers experience in their first interactions with Remote. This role is critical to getting customers off to a good start and building a solid foundation upon which they can grow with the Remote.
What you bring
Experience running B2B SaaS or Professional Services implementations as a project manager, including multi-country and multi-product programmes.
Experience leading a team of project managers or implementation specialists.
Enterprise payroll, HRIS or HCM implementation experience strongly preferred.
You are passionate about leading and growing a team.
Deep expertise in formal project management methodology, and the ability to embed it across a team rather than run it well on one project.
Strong scope, change control, risk and dependency management at portfolio level.
Comfortable holding executive-level relationships, internally and with customers.
Experience with enterprise governance models and the expectations that come with them.
Proven experience scaling processes, automating repetitive tasks and driving metrics to deliver results that meet or exceed business goals.
Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities.
Critical problem-solving abilities with excellent and empathetic communication skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment with a passion for making an impact.
Proficient with project management tooling (
Monday.com
preferred).
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and hire a globally distributed team of Project Managers; grow and develop them through coaching, mentorship and regular feedback.
Own delivery across the implementation portfolio, from signature through to handover to Payroll Operations, to include:
setting the project management standard the team works to
project plans, RAID logs, status reporting and change control that meet the complex needs of Remote’s base
allocating projects against team capacity, matching PM experience to project complexity and customer expectation
tracking on-time go-live, implementation CSAT and delivery quality, and acting on what those metrics show
Agree scope of implementation and scope of services upfront with the customer, and run change control properly when it moves.
Be the escalation point when a project loses focus or gets behind. Resolve the immediate challenge and then address the root cause to ensure it is not repeated.
Report on portfolio health, risks and dependencies to internal leadership and to customer executives.
Partner with Sales and Solutions during pre-sales so the timelines and services we commit to are ones we can deliver.
Build out the team’s tooling, templates and documentation in
Monday.com
and Notion, and push automation and AI into the parts of delivery that do not need a person.
Be the SME on implementation delivery for teams across the organisation.
