Cloud Engineer (Hybrid - In Office 10 days/Month) at Nglic

We are adding a Cloud Engineer to our team! This is a hybrid position requiring to be In-Office 10 days per month.

Work Environment: NGL offers a flexible work environment where employees can work fully remote, hybrid or onsite at our Madison, Wis. office. We support virtual working arrangements in certain states outside of WI.

A Day in the Life:

The Cloud Engineer operates under minimal supervision in an agile team environment and plays a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and improving our operating environment across cloud platforms. This position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and administrating technical solutions primarily

hosted on cloud-based platforms with primary focus on the AWS platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud-hosted solutions

Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for cloud-based solutions

Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary

Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements and standards

Troubleshoot issues and outages and assist other teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Partner with colleagues to help each other grow expertise in legacy, current, and emerging technologies

Build and maintain documentation of internal systems and usage of external systems

Assist other teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Provide advanced technical support when needed by other teams or your team

Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups

Essential to Your Success:

Working knowledge of cloud services

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code

Experience transforming legacy on-prem solutions to properly designed cloud-based solutions

Knowledge of system security, data backup, and recovery

Familiarity with various operating system platforms

Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Experience with cloud-compatible monitoring tools and logging solutions

Education Preferred: 4 year degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or other related field. Certification in Cloud Technologies is required.

Years of Experience

A minimum of two years of Cloud-technology experience required.

Experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
