Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities
As a Scheduler with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
Develop, maintain, and manage complex Microsoft Project schedules for technical programs.
Build and maintain integrated master schedules and supporting detailed schedules aligned with program scope, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
Ensure schedules are structured to support progress tracking, forecasting, critical path analysis, and earned value management assessments.
Coordinate with program managers, technical leads, functional managers, and control account managers to define activities, durations, logic, constraints, milestones, and resource assumptions.
Status schedules on a recurring basis using input from responsible leads and team members.
Analyze schedule performance, identify variances, assess impacts, and support development of corrective actions and recovery plans.
Perform schedule quality checks to ensure compliance with scheduling best practices, contract requirements, and organizational standards.
Maintain schedule baselines and document changes through formal change control processes.
Support monthly or periodic performance reporting, including schedule metrics, milestone status, critical path analysis, and forecast completion dates.
Prepare schedule products and data for program reviews, customer briefings, and internal management reporting.
Support earned value management activities by ensuring schedule data is properly aligned with work scope, status methods, and performance measurement needs.
Coordinate schedule integration across projects, task orders, subcontractors, and functional workstreams, as applicable.
Identify and communicate schedule risks, logic issues, resource conflicts, and data anomalies.
Support audits, assessments, and data calls related to schedule performance and schedule quality
THIS HYBRID POSITION REQUIRES 3 DAYS OF WORK IN THE OFFICE AND 2 DAYS REMOTE PER WEEK
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) to four (4) years of experience; a combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of degree
Secret Clearance
Experience scheduling facilities and services for multiple agencies
Minimum five (5) years’ experience working with Microsoft Office software and Internet usage
Ability to coordinate several events simultaneously and the ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently at times and make appropriate decisions under time constraints
Skills in communication, public speaking, providing constructive feedback and handling complaints

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
