Job description

Sr. Healthcare Partnerships Associate (Mid-Atlantic) at Rula

We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one's overall well-being.

We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.

Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.

About the role

We are seeking a Sr. Healthcare Partnerships Associate who thrives in ambiguity and draws energy from building the relationships that drive our mission forward. In this role, you are directly responsible for the growth of “sold” providers and the subsequent patient demand and starts within your territory. This is a high-velocity, "boots-on-the-ground" sales position requiring you to be in the field at least three days per week. You will own the full sales cycle—utilizing provided lead lists to drive aggressive outbound sourcing, consulting, and closing providers. You will be responsible for all in-person selling and relationship management for accounts within a 2 hour radius of your major metro, while maintaining remote selling strategies for assigned accounts outside that immediate geography. Because of the heavy local travel requirements, candidates must reside in the greater Mid-Atlantic area (Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C., and Virginia) to be considered for this role.

1 in 5 people are suffering from a mental health issue, and fewer than 50% of people are getting help. We need professionals with a track record of overachievement in outbound healthcare sales or business development that are committed to solving this problem with us and hungry to face the hardships of a 0 to 1 environment. You will join a fast-growing team that has already grown 10x this past year, at the ground level. You’ll be given the opportunity to make an impact on issues that matter in the world while improving your entrepreneurial skills.

This role includes a base salary plus uncapped variable pay. Your earnings are directly tied to performance, with unlimited upside and strong potential to exceed target earnings.

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years carrying a quota in outbound sales / business development (healthcare preferred) with a track record of strong attainment
  • 2+ years of experience independently self-sourcing a meaningful portion of a sales pipeline through outbound channels, including cold calling.
  • Demonstrated success managing full-cycle deals independently, navigating complex objections with tenacity, and maintaining rigorous closing discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging both providers and practice staff
  • Experience managing customer relationships and deals in a CRM (Salesforce preferred)
  • Must currently reside in the designated target market (no relocation assistance provided) with personal, reliable transportation to support up to 50% local travel within a 2-hour radius of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington, D.C. and Virginia

Preferred qualifications

While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.

  • A proven ability to operate in ambiguous environments, leveraging curiosity and experimentation to build new playbooks and process improvements.
  • Experience selling to a diverse range of personas within healthcare or health systems, spanning from individual contributors to executive decision-makers.
  • Experience operating within a startup environment and navigating the unique challenges of taking a business from 0 to 1
  • A history of upward professional progression or internal promotion(s) in previous sales or business development roles.

We're serious about your well-being! As part of our team, full-time employees receive:

  • 100% remote work environment: Working hours to support a healthy work-life balance, ensuring you can meet both professional and personal commitments (must be based in United States, currently not hiring in Hawaii)
  • Attractive pay and benefits: Full transparency of pay ranges regardless of where you live in the United States
  • Comprehensive health benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and FSA/HSA
  • 401(k) plan access: Start saving for your future
  • Generous time-off policies: Including 2 company-wide shutdown weeks each year for self-care (for most employees)
  • Paid parental leave: Available for all parents, including birthing, non-birthing, adopting, and fostering
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Supporting your mental and physical health
  • Quarterly department stipend: Fun team-building activities or in-person gatherings
  • Community and employee resource groups: Participate in groups that celebrate employee identity and lived experiences, fostering a sense of community and belonging for all
  • Home office stipend: New hire home office stipend & $50 monthly stipend to help cover internet or cell phone expenses
  • Wellness at Rula program: Year-round wellness initiatives and a $50/month wellness stipend

Our team

We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our mission of making mental healthcare work for everyone. We are dedicated to having a culture of inclusion that will support our employees in feeling safe, seen, heard, and valued.
