The annual-cost formula

For every attendee group: annual salary divided by 2,080 hours, multiplied by the loaded-cost multiplier, attendee count, total minutes per occurrence divided by 60, and annual occurrences. Group costs are then added together.

Total minutes include live duration plus the entered preparation, follow-up, and context-switch allowances for every attendee.

Salary and loaded cost

Salary is used only as an estimate of paid labor time. The default 1.3 multiplier is a scenario assumption for employer costs beyond salary, not a universal benchmark. Set it to 1.0 for salary time only, or enter an internal finance assumption.

Async alternative rules

Recommendations are deterministic and purpose-specific. Status transfer is a strong replacement candidate. Decisions, planning, brainstorms, and training use hybrid workflows. One-to-ones, social connection, active incidents, and interviews remain live because nuance, coordination, or human connection may be the outcome.

Async scenario costs include an explicit writer-time estimate and a per-reader estimate. The calculator never treats async work as zero-cost.

What is deliberately excluded

The calculator does not price meeting-room space, software, travel, overtime rules, taxes, exchange rates, or the productivity impact of fragmented calendars. It also cannot quantify decision quality, psychological safety, inclusion, mentoring, trust, risk avoided, or revenue created.

Privacy and reproducibility

Calculations are stateless. WFH.team does not create a user record or save meeting names, salaries, attendee groups, or cost assumptions. The shareable URL contains the inputs shown in its query string.
